With an advocacy-based empowerment approach, Prince George’s Hospital Center Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center provides free 24 hour medical and support services.

The SANE program allows survivors to access a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, a registered nurse who has completed specialized education and clinical preparation in order to provide a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE), which provides medical care to patients of any age who have experienced sexual assault or abuse, and domestic violence as well as diagnostic testing and forensic evidence collection. The staff assists survivors with their safety and emotional needs; referring them for follow-up support, counseling, shelter and legal assistance.

University of Maryland Bowie Health Center is an emergency medical facility providing care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Bowie Health Center does not provide Sexual Assault Forensic Exams (SAFE).
